The Hungry Food Band are a Motern Media novelty song band, solely consisting of Matt Farley. It is Farley’s twenty-seventh novelty band and twenty-ninth band overall, and the first novelty band neither covering sports nor formed for a movie since The Ultra Right Wing Conversatives and The Extreme Left Wing Liberals.
Farley began writing songs as The Hungry Food Band in 2009, shortly after beginning his novelty project with bands like Papa Razzi and the Photogs and The Passionate and Objective Jokerfan. This is not the first Motern Media band to write songs focusing extensively on food, as The Spoiled Chefs – Farley’s band with Kevin McGee in the early 2000s – explored the concept first. (However, The Spoiled Chefs’ discography could be considered partial inspiration for the novelty era.)
Unlike some other major Motern Media novelty acts, The Hungry Food Band does not have any lore. Farley also has not recorded any music under this pseudonym since 2012, capping The Hungry Food Band’s discography at four albums. However, he has continued crediting food-centered albums to other Motern Media bands, such as The Odd Man Who Sings About Poop, Puke and Pee‘s Food Poop Songs.
